Finger Lakes Farmstead Cheese produces European-style farmstead cheeses using fresh, raw milk form their family farm. Here all their cheeses are ‘farmstead’, meaning their cheeses are produced from the milk from one farm only, ensuring the highest cheese quality.
The term “Farmstead” defines cheese as being made with the milk from one farm only. It is a narrower term within the category of “Artisan” cheese, which is given to cheeses made in a special way – hand produced, traditionally aged, or otherwise having special qualities.
